Easy Homemade Dog Treats

There are so many unhealthy dog treats out on the market today. They are full unnecessary ingredients that your dog doesn’t need in their diet. That’s why homemade treats are the way to go! Check out these inexpensive and easy-to-make dog treats that are approved by our two dogs, Belle and Moose!

Frozen Lick Mats:

Lick mats can be purchased from any pet store. You can add all sorts of ingredients to them. I usually take no salt added chicken or beef broth, pure pumpkin (not pie filling), and frozen veggies like green beans and carrots and fill up the mat. I stick it in the freezer overnight and give to the dogs in the middle of the day as a snack. You can also add other ingredients like blueberries, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, kibble, wet dog food, and more! Get creative and see what your dog likes best. These lick mats will keep your dog occupied for about 15-20 minutes.

Homemade Dog Biscuits:

You can find all sorts of great recipes for dog biscuits online! I like to make these easy three ingredient biscuits from It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken. https://itdoesnttastelikechicken.com/easy-homemade-dog-treats/#recipe All you need are oats, bananas, and natural peanut butter!

Safe Fruits and Veggies for Dogs:

The easiest treats to give your dog are fresh fruits and veggies! Belle and Moose go nuts for bananas. Some other fruits and veggies that are safe for dogs are blueberries, cucumbers, pumpkin, strawberries, watermelon, broccoli, carrots, and green beans.

If you make any treats for your dog, please share a photo on our Facebook page. We would love to see!
